I have the honour to inform you that the German Consul here having learned that I purposed travelling to England in August next, if I am able to avail myself of my leave,
by the Trans-Siberian Railway, communicated with Berlin with the
result that yesterday he conveyed to me verbally by direction of
His Imperial Majesty the German Emperor an invitation to be present with my wife and eldest daughter at the grand review of the Imperial Guard at Berlin on the 1st. of September.
This gracious invitation I have accepted in
suitable terms subject to circumstances peruitting me to avail my-
-self of the leave granted to me.
